What’s in it (and what isn’t)

Natural Deodorant

The Three Gems Natural Deodorant is made with baking soda and Petitgrain oil, as well as natural butters and oils like cocoa butter and coconut oil, arrowroot, a little beeswax, and natural Vitamin E.

What isn’t in it?  No water, no fillers, no chemicals, no aluminium, no parabens, no nasties at all – just pure goodness.

Baking soda

You may be aware of the massive variety of uses baking soda has. The name shows that it is used for baking, activating other ingredients to help cakes rise. It also has fabulous odour-fighting properties. (Side tip for anyone who didn’t know: baking soda removes even the hardest-to-remove smells, including petrol, fish, and garlic.)

Because baking soda is so good at getting rid of odours, we use it in our natural deodorant! You will never have to worry about odour again.

Petitgrain oil

Sourced from the leaves of the Italian bitter orange tree, petitgrain is anti-infectious, antiseptic, and naturally deodorising. With calming properties and a fresh, floral scent, you will feel like you are embodying a summer meadow.

Coconut oil

Antifungal, antibacterial, and rich in fatty acids, we’re sure you already know how special coconut oil is. The coconut oil we use is from Sri Lanka. With its healing properties and a natural SPF of around 4, it protects your skin from the sun and potential pathogens.

Cocoa Butter

We source our cocoa butter from the fruits of cacao trees in Peru. Believed to be the food of the gods by ancient Inca, cacao provides a range of health benefits. In cocoa butter form, it is full of antioxidants and is a superb moisturiser. Applying this will not only make your skin feel smooth and moisturised but will also help protect you from free radicals that could harm your cells.

We love using this in our deodorant because its melting point is about the same as human body temperature – it literally melts into your skin. Yum!

Strawberry seed oil

Strawberry seed oil is a wonder ingredient that is also in our natural lip balm! Distilled from millions of strawberry seeds, it helps our organic deodorant glide on smoothly and is the number one reason why our baking soda formula does not irritate the skin.

Natural arrowroot is another magic maker ingredient. It is used as a baby powder in South America and a relief for sunburn in Africa for its anti-irritant and anti-inflammatory properties. It reduces underarm dampness and keeps your skin happy when used in deodorant.

Beeswax

Beeswax helps keep your skin nice and dewy. The main reason that we use it in our deodorant is that it keeps the formula solid. In warm weather, it will not melt! The beeswax we use is natural. You might find that when you buy your next batch, our batches vary in colour depending on the source and time of year.

Vitamin E

The Vitamin E in our deodorant provides antioxidant properties, nourishing your skin and protecting it from harmful free radicals that could damage your DNA over time.

Frankincense Face Oil

Our Frankincense Face Oil is hand-blended using a base of organic argan, and organic evening primrose oils.  Two types of organic frankincense oil, and stabilised with a natural Vitamin E that is derived from soya beans.

And what isn’t in it?  There is no water, no fillers, no chemicals, no nasties at all.  Just pure goodness.

Argan oil

Drawn from the native Moroccan argan tree, argan oil works wonders for your skin. Women in Morrocco have long used argan oil as sunscreen. It does wonders for your skin, packed with vitamins A and E, antioxidants, omega-6 fatty acids, and linoleic acids.

Anyone suffering from acne and skin irritations will be amazed at their clear pores and more regular oil production. Anti-bacterial and anti-fungal, it is beneficial to apply this on mild skin irritations

Argan oil is also an anti-inflammatory, helping symptoms of rosacea and psoriasis. The saponins in argan oil help reactivate the skin’s own ability to regenerate. It helps reduce the depth and severity of fine lines and wrinkles, reducing premature aging.

Our frankincense face oil is the best face oil for winter and summer. With its high argan oil content, it will protect your skin during the cold and dry seasons.

Evening primrose oil

Evening primrose oil is made by extracting the oil from flower seeds.

Rich in omega-6 fatty acids, evening primrose oil supports healthy skin and nails. These acids are essential for promoting good cell structure and improving skin elasticity. Evening primrose oil is a must-have ingredient for anyone with mature skin.

It also has anti-inflammatory properties, which can help anyone suffering from psoriasis, eczema, acne, or dry skin.

Frankincense essential oil

We use two types of the finest frankincense sourced from Somalia and Oman.

Frankincense has been used since ancient times and has long been revered for its elevating effects and profound benefits for the body and mind.

As it stimulates the healing and regeneration of the skin, it is a premium oil for mature skin to soothe and tone.  Frankincense is effective in controlling skin break-outs and is safe for use during pregnancy.

Vitamin E

The all-natural Vitamin E we use in our face oil adds antioxidant properties to the mix, nourishing your skin and protecting it from harmful molecules that could damage your DNA over time. We add this natural ingredient so that your face oil remains stable for a long shelf life.

Lip Balm

The primary ingredients are coconut oil, cocoa butter, beeswax, strawberry seed oil, and natural vitamin e.

The different varieties have:

• Aloe Vera is made with organic aloe vera extract – healing and calming with no fragrance
• Spearmint contains spearmint essential oil – very refreshing and cooling
• Strawberry contains strawberry oil – a classic “pick-me-up”
• Tinted Aloe Vera has all of the benefits of aloe vera as well as a good amount of natural mica tint.
