How Three Gems started – the personal story

Have you ever started something, and it has taken on a life of its own? Or turned out way better than you could ever have envisaged?  It was like this with me when starting to make my own deodorant and skin care.  Here’s my personal story of how Three Gems got started.

About 12 years ago, my skin became sensitive to the products I was using – especially the deodorant. I hunted around and tried all sorts of different brands, but nothing worked for me. So, out of desperation, I started making my own! This was just for my own use. I had no intention of making it for other people let alone starting a business!  First, it was the deodorant, and then I ventured into the face oil, body butter, and lip balm all within a short space of time. I discovered I was in my happy place researching, formulating, and making my products

Friends and family noticed the difference in my skin and wanted to use what I was using, so I started sharing my creations. And before I knew it, it had grown enough to become Three Gems Natural Skincare. Prior to that, I had not ever thought about running a business, let alone starting one from scratch. That was over 5 years ago now and making and sharing the Three Gems products is still very much my happy place.

If you’d told me 13 years ago that this is what I’d be doing, I would have said “no way”! But I am so, so pleased that we are sharing the products that we love to make and use ourselves. It brings us such joy and doesn’t feel like work at all when you are doing what you love and working with a great team.  Thank you for working with, or buying from, and supporting Three Gems ❤️
